The Amazing Bavarian Stompers are a British comedy oompah band run from Halifax in West Yorkshire. Their site states that they were the first British comedy Bavarian oompah band to be engaged for a major German bier festival. It also says they have a long history, have played every kind of venue, have performed many times on radio and television, and have two albums and a single on release.
The show is a loud, fast musical trip through the Bavarian bier kellers, played on electronic accordion, sousaphone and drums, and the line up can be enlarged for bigger events. Audience participation is the point of it: one testimonial on the site, from a golden wedding party, describes the whole room swaying, clapping and banging along. Bavarian interval music is supplied between sets, and the band bring a 1.25kw sound system and lighting rig.
